Expressing heartfelt tributes to the departed souls of the unfortunate ecological disaster of Kedarnath in June, 2013 at the condolence meeting held on 25th June, 2017 at Garhwal Bhawan, New Delhi organised by Chhunyaal in Garhwali News portal n newspaper. While conveying my deepest respects n tributes to the departed soul I demanded a white a paper on Uttarakhand tragedy of 2013 as to what exactly the previous government has done n what does the current political dispensation intends to do for the rehabilitation n economic viability of the completely shattered villages, tormented and traumatised widows, orphaned children n those who have lost their everything in this never to be forgotton disaster of the century that claimed thousands of precious lives n led to colossal loss of the state’s economy n to mankind. A demand was also sought for the future road map to curtail such mishappenings n exercise possible precautions for the ongoing safety n security of the inhabitants of Uttarakhand from such gigantic tectonic upheavals n catatatrophic earthquakes as well as ecoligical disasters. What has the disaster management authorities of the states n centre are doing in this regard was also the moot question raised by me while addressing the audience. I also appealed to the organisers of this condolence meet to prepare a consolidated n credible technical paper on the subject to be presented to the Uttarakhand chief minister Shri Trivendra Rawat mentioning ways n means to avert such environmental crisis in the near future to some extent, if feasible n possible n to devise ways and means to lessen peoples’ grievances in the aftermath situation of such natural disasters to the maximum possible extent.
