This is shockingly horrible. Pathetic situation . Below is the shattered ceiling of one of the DDA flats’ of Metroview Appartment in Sector 13, Dwarka constructed in the year 1999 using substandard material posing a grave threat to the lives of hundreds of residents. There have been several incidents of such disastrous falling of the ceilings of top floors of several houses in this DDA society now being gradually repaired by the authority concerned taking several months leading to immense inconvenience to the occupants who are compelled to rent alternate accomodations bearing expensive rents from their personal pockets for months together.

There have been good number of incidents of such sudden falling of the roofs n ceiling of several top floor houses including the balconies when fortunately the lucky residents not being their at the time of such mishappenings, could save their precious lives. The Metroview appartment has in total 804 HIG n MIG flats with majority of them in bad shape thus posing grave risk to the occupants.

However, after number of meetings, complaints n representations by the indvidual residents n the RWA the DDA has started the renovation work of some of the top floors but the pace of repair work seems to be too slow n complex. It was just yesterday i.e. on June, 2017 during the day time that the ceiling of house Number 248 of this society came crushing down with a huge bang, thanks to the good luck of the owner of this house, that no one was there at the time of the ceiling coming down abruptly.

The occupant a retired senior citizen Mr. Robert Joseph lodged the police complaint thereafter n said that he had aready lodged his complaint with the local DDA authorites as well, about two years’ ago but of no avail. The allotees of the society are now fed up with the complacent attitude of DDA n has requested them to initiate the overall renovation work of all the damaged flats expeditiously keeping in view the languishing risks n grave threat to the lives of its occupants.

Thank God once again that there was’nt any casualty. The President of the Metroview Society Residents Welfare Association Vinod Rawat has expressed his shock over these incidents of regular falling of substandard ceilings n balconies of the top floors of the society n have urged the concerned DDA authorities to expedite the renovation work to the fullest satisfaction of the occupants failing which they will be constrained to approch the high authorities for justice.
